Acetyl-CoA

Acetyl coenzyme A. A product of fatty acid oxidation and of the breakdown of carbohydrates through glycolysis. Along with pyruvic acid, an important constituent of the citric acid cycle (Krebs Cycle) which drives cellular energy production.
